Chr. Olesen was founded in 1885, in Denmark, by Mads Chr. Olesen. The company started as a small family-run grocery and goods store. It soon developed into a local grain and feed supplier, providing local farmers with seeds for their farms. In 1992 Mads C. Olesen, the fourth generation, transformed Chr. Olesen into the distribution of feed ingredients. Why? – because “The one who realises the changes of society and adapts, survives” (Mads C. Olesen, 1992).

Today, our Feed division distributes high-quality vitamins, amino acids, minerals, carotenoids and antioxidants to animal feed producers and pre-mixers worldwide. We have offices in Europe, the USA, Brazil and Mexico to serve the local needs of our customers. Our well-established logistics network enables us to efficiently warehouse and transport the requested products to our customers throughout different countries.
Looking into the future
In 2022 the fifth generation, Christian Dam Olesen, joined the Chr. Olesen Group and is working with business development within the Feed business.
As in the previous generations, the 5th generation intends to invest in innovation, quality, and customer service, to continue the path of development for the next generations.
Europe & USA
- Chr. Olesen started distributing ingredients to the feed industry in 1992.
- Today the Feed ingredients business in Europe and the USA is headed by Dirk Theissen, Germany.
Latin America
- Chr. Olesen has been active in Brazil and Mexico with feed additives and ingredients since 2012. The company started with just one local Chr. Olesen Partner colleague, Gustavo Penz, who is now heading the Feed business in Latin America and Mexico. Today the 2nd biggest office in the Chr. Olesen group is in Campinas, Brazil.
- The Feed Business in Brazil and Mexico is closely connected to our important partnership with Zhejiang NHU, China, with whom Chr. Olesen has established local joint ventures to strengthen the distribution of NHU products.

Olesen GmbH in Germany, and Chr. Olesen SA in Belgium, are certified according to DS/EN ISO 9001:2015 standards. However, the processes and principles are implemented throughout the entire group of Chr. Olesen subsidiaries within Europe and the USA.
FAMI-QS
By adhering to FAMI-QS, we ensure that our feed ingredients are produced in compliance with the highest safety and quality standards. Additionally, FAMI-QS provides our customers with a guarantee of traceability and transparency, so they can have confidence in the safety and quality of the products they receive from us. Our subsidiaries, Chr. Olesen A/S in Denmark, Chr. Olesen GmbH in Germany, and Chr. Olesen SA in Belgium, are certified according to FAMI-QS standards.
